Q:        What sort of company are you and where are you located?

A:        We are a small home-based company located in Grenada in the Caribbean

Q:        What type of catering do you offer?

A:        Anything.  From small orders of a meal for two to a buffet lunch, cocktail party
            or wedding reception.   We also offer villa catering  Below is a list of some of the types of
            catering we can do.

            Frozen Dinners
            Freshly cooked Home/Villa dinners
            Desserts
            Refreshments for board meetings etc.
            Buffets - Wedding or regular
            Cocktail parties

Q:        Do you cook "In House"?

A:        Buffet lunches, cocktail parties, weddings etc.:  
        
            We normally try and prepare as much of the food in our own facilities so that minimal prep work    
             has to be done onsite.    We can also provide waiters/ess, servers etc.   See our services page

            Villa Catering or Delivered home meals:

            Normally we prepare the food and then deliver.   Everything is normally all cooked and just
            requires reheating.      We can try and help make arrangementsfor servers etc if this is
            something you require.    Email us your questions so we can see if we can help.

Q:        What are your operating hours?

A:        Sunday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
            Friday -  7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
           Closed Fri 5:00 p.m. - Sat 9:00 p.m.







Ordering FAQ


Q:        How much notice do we need to give you?

A:        We appreciate as much notice as possible.  
        
             We are a small company and in the unlikely event that your order coincides
             with a a large pre-booked function we may have to decline your order
             or fix another date convenient to you. 

            Also due to the fact that some food items are difficult to obtain the more
            notice we have the better we can serve you.

            For home/villa dinner delivery we ask for 36 hours notice.
        
            For an event function it would depend on the complexity of the event - between
             1week and 1 month.


Q:        Do we have to place one order at a time or can we place multiple orders?

A:        You can place more than one order at a time.  

 

Q:        If we are arriving from abroad can we place our order in advance?

A:        Absolutely, we prefer it.  E-mail us at kimscatering@spiceisle.com

Q:        We are arriving from abroad.  Is it possible to have a meal prepared for our arrival ?

A:        Absolutely.  Once you are in touch with us and inform us of where you are staying we can
            then organise a way to either deliver the meal on the day of your arrival prior to your
            checking in or once you are settled in we can deliver.

Q:        Do you do deliver and is there a charge for delivery?

A:        Yes, we deliver and No there is no extra charge for deliveries in the parish of St. George's.

Q:        How late will you deliver?

A:        Unless it is a very large order or a special event that we are catering for our last
            delivery drop off time is is around 5:30 pm.




Special Diet FAQ


Q:        Do you cater to vegetarian or vegan diets?

A:        Yes.   Just let us know all the specific details and we can prepare a menu to suit.


Q:        A member of our group is highly allergic to nuts and/or another food.    Is this something
            you take seriously and can you make dishes that will avoid any reactions?


A:        Yes we do take this seriously and can make tailor made menus with the allergy in mind.
            We have dealt with this problem previously.   We can give you a referral email
            address to a client if you would like reassurance that we can handle this situation.





Villa Catering FAQ

Q:        What do you mean by villa catering?

A:        If you are renting a villa or have a home here in Grenada we can prepare a meal
            for you and deliver it.  You can then re-heat the food at your convenience.



Q:        What are the advantages of this service?

A:        1. If you are renting a luxury villa you may not want to have to go out.
            2. This method is more cost effective than eating out in a restaurant.
            3. If you have children, having the food catered in can make life easier.
            4. You may have a large group - this makes it easier to co-ordinate everyone.
            5. Some of your group may have special dietary requirements that are hard to
                obtain in a restaurant.  See our Special Diet FAQ section.



Q:        Do you deliver or cook "In House"

Payment & Policies FAQ


Q:        What payment methods do you accept?

A:        Cash:  U.S. Dollars, CND Dollars, E.C. Dollars, Pound Sterling  & Euros.
         
            Checks:  Local E.C. Checks or Bank Drafts.    Please make checks payable
            to "Kim's Catering" or "Kim de Vega".     We accept foreign personal checks
            however we must receive them 5 weeks prior to your arrival/event as
            this is the time required by the bank to clear.

            Credit cards:   We accept Visa & Mastercard
            Get our downloadable credit card authorisation form if you would prefer
            to fax your credit card details



Q:        Do you require a deposit?

A:         For larger orders, we ask for 50% deposit at least two weeks in advance of event.
             If we are also making other arrangements on your behalf, i.e. tent rental, chair rental
             etc. we do require full payment for these cost in advance.


             For smaller orders we do not require a deposit but we will request your credit
             card details to hold on file and charge the card for the full amount a day or so prior
             to your arrival (if you are ordering from overseas)


Q:        What currency are your prices in and is there any tax?

A:         Our prices are in E.C. Dollars and are subject to a 5% General Consumption Tax.


Q:        What if I have to cancel my order or event? 

A:        Our standard policy is:

              If the catering requested has to be cancelled, we require one weeks notice prior to the first booked
              date. With this notice we will refund your deposit in its entirety.   Cancellations on or within seven
              days of first booking date  will result in a charge of 50% of the total bill.   This is due to the fact that
              the ingredients will have been purchased with in this week period.

              However if you have catered for a large event it really depends on how much notice you give us
              because this will determine  the food purchases and other arrangements that have already been
              made.   
        
             For food catering that you have arranged with us we require one weeks
             notice for cancellations.  With this notice we will refund your deposit in its entirety.     

              If you give us less than one weeks notice it is at the companies discretion to decide
              if your deposit can be refunded.    This decision will be reached by taking into
              consideration whether any purchases were made for your event and any other
              bookings that were turned down to accommodate your event.

            If we have assisted in other arrangements for your event. i.e. hiring tables and
            chairs then the deposit refund for this will depend on what the sub contracted
            companies policy is.   If we paid for this service on your behalf and they will not
            refund the payment we will have to charge you accordingly.        

        

Q:        Do you have any disclaimers that you wish to inform us of?

A:        All prices are quoted on website are subject to change.
  
            Please bear in mind that certain items are seasonal or not always available in Grenada.
            We will do our best to obtain the required ingredients however alternatives may have
            to be used or another selection made.  

            Although we will follow up and make sure all arrangements are made to the extent
            of our ability, we are not liable or responsible for any errors, delays or unprofessional
            behaviour on the part of subcontracted companies.

            You need to inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements prior to your event so
            the appropriate menu can be arranged and confirmed.
